Once a dated rambler has now become a client's dream home. The client wanted their living space to be more connected to the backyard and allow for more comfortable entertaining. By removing walls, vaulting the kitchen ceiling, and adding doors and windows this multi-function space was created. Stretching into all three bedrooms with new flooring, trim, doors, and paint this home has been transformed. The use of warm colors, and mixing of transitional styling with some traditional details makes this home a client dream come true.

Meet the Builder

Rainier Custom Homes: Seattle

This 90-year-old classic craftsman in Seattle endured three iterations of kitchens before RCH partnered with the current, long-time owners on a design that conveys and matches older eras.

Gaspar's Construction: Green Lake

Expanded bedrooms, an enlarged kitchen, and a revamped front room opened up both the view and appeal of this almost-brand-new Tudor home.

CRD Design Build

With two growing kids, this Seattle family was rapidly outgrowing their home. Previous clients, they came back to CRD to design a second-story addition and a whole-house remodel.

Pathway Design & Construction

This lovely 1912 Craftsman home, with shingle siding and original fir floors, needed a lot of love. Tearing it down and starting over was appealing, but reviving the home's long-forgotten character ultimately won out.

Harjo Construction

A 1928 pre-war home in Ballard gained three times the living space of the outdated addition it replaced, plus a flood of new light from double-hung wood windows.

Potter Construction

A transformation of both the exterior and interior improved accessibility, space, and natural light via the new open (but still cozy) floor plan.

Schulte Construction

We expanded the kitchen into a previously enclosed porch and relocated the exterior door. We replaced a door opening with a pass-through "window" between the dining room and kitchen to keep the two rooms connected and maximize wall space. Outside, we removed vinyl siding and restored the original wood siding and trim. We also replaced all of the windows, front porch (including stairs and railing), garage door, and roofing and added new paint.

The third and largest phase in the continued remodeling of this 1920s Queen Anne Tudor Revival focused on adding modern kitchen and bathroom amenities with classic details and craftsmanship. A central staircase shows off a one-of-a-kind design and custom moldings.

The new addition made room for a master suite and larger kitchen. A guest bathroom and powder room were relocated and revitalized. Every detail was considered in this meticulous remodel.

The complete renovation of this classic 1906 Capitol Hill home includes a newly updated kitchen with custom cabinetry, a large walnut butcher block island, and professional appliances.

Two smaller bedrooms and a bathroom on the second floor were combined into a spacious master suite with a walk-in closet and an expansive master bath that features custom tile work, custom cabinetry, and heated floors. New and refinished hardwood flooring, both fir and oak, are found throughout the home.

Gaspar's Construction: Site 2

This 1908 home had a dated 1980s bathroom that was no longer holding up to cleaning. The room was gutted and redone adding modern conveniences including heated floors and a steam shower. The goal was a fresh, clean, modern look that still fit with the era of the home. It is the only bathroom on the second floor and shared by the entire family so a private toilet room was created and the single vanity was replaced by a double vanity.

Sockeye Homes & Hagge Design Associates

The entire three-story, 3,600+ square foot custom-built dream home will be on tour, showcasing a rooftop deck with sweeping beach and water views, two kitchens, a separate bar and entertaining area, six bathrooms, an elevator, and a separate mother-in-law living area.

This elegant Mercer Island rambler features fine detailing at each turn. The original 1980s rambler was completely renovated, inside and out. All the interior walls were altered and taken down to the studs. All exterior surfaces, with the exception of the roof, were also removed and reconstructed. This project came in on budget and within the projected move-in date.

Classic and modern blend beautifully in this updated 1941 kitchen. Originally the ample space was underutilized. By redesigning the kitchen layout and adding a well-placed island for gathering and extra seating, the flow and efficiency make this kitchen the star of the home! Vintage touches include a farm sink, cup pulls, white Shaker custom cabinetry and subway tiles which sparkle next to modern updates of granite countertops and stainless steel appliances.

Carlisle Classic Homes

The focus of this complete remodel was on restoring or recreating accurate historical elements of this 1900 Queen Anne Craftsman, including custom interior moldings and floor inlays.

Dropped ceilings were recaptured and a custom library was built into the den to create spaces with both volume and character. The exterior of the home was restored to match archived photos. The dilapidated garage was torn down for a new, insulated and heated two-car garage.

Schulte Construction

The kitchen was renovated from the framing to provide a better use of space and to incorporate modern conveniences such as a dishwasher, gas range, new utilities, and better ventilation. The eating nook was redesigned with built-ins.

For the attic remodel, both sides of the center were dormered to add a sitting area and bathroom. Most of the original T&G paneling was reused in the new bathroom; built-ins were used to maximize space.

Gaspar's Construction

A more accessible living space with breathtaking views of Lake Washington was achieved by removing the wall between the kitchen and dining room in this lovely French chateau, creating a large open space. The wall between the living and dining rooms was also removed to access a gorgeous view of the lake with French Doors leading out to a brick patio. All new hardwood floors and a pantry/command center completed the downstairs transformation. On the third floor, a spacious master suite was created with barn doors and transom windows.
