This 1949 home was transformed to meet the changing needs of the homeowner, a retired war veteran.

Using universal design principles, the remodel includes a master bathroom, kitchen, living room with new fireplace, updated flooring, doors, trim, and a wider staircase and doorways. All floor transitions were removed. The walk-in shower includes a bench. Easier access and use was created in the updated kitchen.

By removing obstacles, greater ease and overall safety was achieved. Thanks to these changes, the owner now has greater independence in his home.

This charming Ballard home is more functional, brighter, and more stylish since its bathroom and kitchen remodel.

Mixing old with new, the master bathroom features black and white tiles with a curbless shower and glass blocks. The space was enlarged by removing a linen closet and the bathtub to allow for a large walk-in shower with polished chrome plumbing fixtures and grab bars.

Keeping the same footprint, the kitchen was remodeled on a limited budget. Cabinets were rebuilt to integrate the Zephyr range hood and new Silgranit sink. The kitchen remodel includes a new countertop, backsplash, and freshly painted cabinets.

From the onset, the clients envisioned a classic, elegant master bath that would enhance their daily experience, as well as tastefully update their Sammamish home.

Though the basic footprint of the bathroom stayed the same, the bathroom was updated from head to toe and the master closet was reconfigured. By removing the fireplace and vaulting the ceiling, an open, inviting, and spacious great room was born. The enlarged kitchen features new skylights, beautiful granite countertops, and cherry cabinets, along with a raised eating bar. A relocated gas fireplace and entertainment center now compliments the main seating area. Swedish-finished hardwood floors throughout complete the transformation.

Every room in this 1930 brick home was updated. Major remodeling took place in the kitchen, three bathrooms, the master bedroom, and the basement. A very small awkward kitchen became functional and fun and the master bath has a unique tub and shower room. The bedroom was opened up and the basement’s old low-hanging furnace vents were removed, allowing for the creation of a media room.

This 1908 home had a dated 1980s bathroom that was no longer holding up to cleaning. The room was gutted and redone adding modern conveniences including heated floors and a steam shower. The goal was a fresh, clean, modern look that still fit with the era of the home. It is the only bathroom on the second floor and shared by the entire family so a private toilet room was created and the single vanity was replaced by a double vanity.
